Mini airbag warning light problem - Telegraph.co.uk

In older versions of the BMW-built Mini Cooper, the under-seat wiring harness tends to become loose, activating the airbag dashboard warning light, even though there is nothing wrong with the airbags. From 2006, Mini owners in the USA have been offered an extended warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles to cover it. About five years ago, the dashboard light came on permanently in my 2001 Mini. Supplier liability in the UK generally ends when cars are six years old, so VOSA would only act if there was a safety issue. Your car is 13 years old – you wouldn't expect the manufacturer of a 13-year-old mobile phone, computer, TV, refrigerator or washing machine to remain liable for that long. Source: www.telegraph.co.uk
