The Mini Cooper is British, owned by BMW and is making its presence known in Southern Arizona. The original Mini, resembling a "box on wheels," was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The Mini has been called an icon of the 1960s in Great Britain. George Harrison owned the Mini that was featured in the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour," which was screened by the BBC in January 1968. Shortly after the film, the Mini was given to Eric Clapton. Harrison got it back in the 1970s.
