Cape volleyball hosts 13-team play day - Cape Gazette
Thirteen teams from around the state competed in 25-minute mini-games to see where their squads were at this time in the preseason and what they needed to work on before the start of the season Sept. Teams competing along with Cape were Caesar Rodney, Delmarva Christian, Dover, Hodgson, Indian River, Lake Forest, Polytech, Smyrna, Sussex Academy, Sussex Central, Sussex Tech and Tatnall. "We played some really strong teams," said new head coach Tyler Coupe. "I saw some things I really liked, and I saw a lot of things that we could improve on. ". Cape looks to improve on its 11-4 season in 2014. Last season gave a year of experience for rising sophomores Logan Shuttleworth, Payton Heck, Mallory Jones... "I think we played really well overall on Saturday," said senior Izzie Marsico. "The girls had a good, strong day," said Coupe.
