A Hammond man was sentenced by Lake Superior Court Judge Samuel Cappas to six years in prison for dealing in cocaine. Donald Ray Hunt, 50, admitted in court that on April 15 he was in the 5800 block of Hohman Avenue at Harrison Park in Hammond when he sold 0. 9 gross grams of cocaine for $60 to a confidential informant working with Hammond police investigators. Hunt had faced three to 16 years on the most serious of the dealing in cocaine charges filed against him, which was dismissed along with three other dealing charges. An East Chicago teen has been charged in Lake Superior Court with rape and child molesting involving a 7-year-old girl. A Merrillville woman has been charged in Lake Superior Court with neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury and four other neglect counts involving two children.
