Injured pedestrian remains hospitalized - Ocala

The injured man was listed in serious condition at Ocala Regional Medical Center on Friday, according to spokeswoman Suzanne Santangelo. When Juan Segundo Ruiz was transported to the hospital Tuesday night, he was in critical condition, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers. FHP officials said a 2014 Nissan Altima was heading east in the inside lane of SR 40 while a 1999 Ford F-150 was in the outside lane either next to or slightly behind the car. Authorities said Ruiz, who was wearing dark clothing, walked into the path of the Nissan, driven by 47-year-old Pat Pravinkumar of Ocala. The second vehicle, driven by Lionel M. Stephone, 54 also of Ocala, was hit by debris from the Nissan, officials said.
