Three arrested in central Bakersfield following pursuit - The Bakersfield Californian

Three suspects, including two juveniles, allegedly led Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a chase Friday night before getting out of their car and running, evading law enforcement for about an hour before being taken into custody. A second KCSO deputy arrived to assist but the 2006 Nissan Altima sedan, reported stolen to the Bakersfield Police Department, drove away east according to KCSO Lt. Adam Plugge. Its three occupants abandoned the car near Chester Avenue and Second Street and ran, prompting deputies and BPD officers to cordon off a roughly two-block area. Plugge said all three could face felony charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing or resisting a peace officer. They could also face charges of possessing a stolen vehicle — a misdemeanor or a felony depending on whether they have prior criminal histories. The driver could face an additional felony charge of evading a peace officer. Visitors can read up to 3 staff articles per month for free and without registering.
