Lights, Stripes, Turbo: Meet Scion's Latest Rally-Spec xD Hatchback - MotorTrend Magazine

When the Nissan Maxima was introduced in the U. S. market, it turned heads because the Japanese automaker marketed it as a four-door sports car, claiming enthusiasts didn't have to sacrifice performance in a midsize sedan. Although the Maxima has outgrown the midsize sedan segment, we’re looking back at Motor Trend test data a on the V-6 powered sedan to see how far it has come. This current Maxima is a lot better looking than the ones I remember from the 80s. Though not a large car by traditional American standards, it's a nice step-up from the Altima, just like Avalon is to the Camry. But if you have to cart family around, this Maxima will do nicely I think. In late 2000 I bought my wife a 2001 20th Anniversary Edition Maxima in majestic blue and had it until last year. Since that body style we have had no desire for the newer generation Maximas. The Altama moved into the Maxima’s slot and it is sad the direction Nissan took it. It should have been make rear wheel drive for the segment it is now in. . I had 3 different ones, all SE model and all with the 5 spd manual. I see a lots of complains about CVT, wishing s about manual transmission but in reality most of the people just talk, complain and then go buy automatic ,with one or more excuses like.
