Nissan is staging "The Evolution of the Sports Sedan" road trip next week to the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Some journos and company engineers will drive two Datsun sedans and the re-engineered 2016 Maxima sedan to the annual car week extravaganza. So as reinforcements, Nissan pulled from its museum a 1967 Datsun 411 and a 1972 Datsun 510. It probably doesn’t really matter that the Maxima, now in its eight generation, debuted as a nameplate in 1981. The trio will head out next Thursday, Aug. The 411 was replaced in 1968 by the Datsun 510, which went on to define a great era in Nissan racing. Sharing the Nissan Garage at the track will be Steve Millen's 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning No. 75 IMSA GTS Championship Nissan 300ZX race car. Source: www.sandiegouniontribune.com
