Like January, February is difficult to evaluate sales trends since it is typically a modest sales month because automakers sought in December to bring consumers into showrooms to reach annual goals. Sales of hybrid and electric vehicles increased modestly from January, with electric vehicles flat with last year and hybrids down from year-ago (in line with recent months given lower gas prices and a continuing trend towards crossovers and... Sales for full electric vehicles were up from year-ago (due to a number of new entrants), although well below the last few months of 2014 (sales tend to increase late in the year due to consumers wanting to take advantage of tax credits).
