A vehicle rental program is helping commuters who share rides or take public transportation to work in The Energy Corridor District feel less stranded if they need to run errands, are asked to work late or are called away from their jobs earlier... The district funds an Enterprise CarShare program that provides access to rental vehicles for commuters who take alternative transportation to and from the area. The Energy Corridor District, a Harris County improvement district, has funded the program since mid-2013 and recently expanded the number of locations that provide vehicles at work for commuters. The district already had CarShare sites at Eldridge Place, 777 N. Eldridge Parkway, and Ashford V Plaza , 14701 St. Mary's Lane. "Whether you vanpool, carpool, bike, ride the bus or walk to the office, our CarShare program provides cost-effective access to a vehicle, so you have wheels when you want them," said Kelly Rector , transportation coordinator for The Energy Corridor.
