Head-on crash near Range claims life of St. Paul woman - Richmond-News

A Minneapolis man was operating this Nissan Quest van Sunday evening when he strayed left of the centerline, then swerved back to his travel lane but he struck the oncoming car that had swerved across the line, trying to avoid him. A woman in the second vehicle died of her injuries later Sunday at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She had to be extricated from the badly damaged 2004 Toyota Corolla and was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where she later died, according to a press release from Polk County Sheriff Peter Johnson. The drivers of both vehicles -- Abdiweli M. Mohamed, 23, of Minneapolis and Mohammed H. Mohammed, 23, of Barron -- were both transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. Mohammed took evasive action to avoid the van by swerving to the left of the centerline. Meanwhile, van driver M. Mohammed swerved right to return to his travel lane and the two vehicles collided head-on. Source: www.newrichmond-news.com
