2 killed, 4 injured in SUV crash at Bradenton newspaper pickup spot - Bay News 9
Two men were killed and four others were injured when a sport utility vehicle hit two people and crashed into a tree and two parked cars early Sunday in Bradenton. Around 3:15 a. m. , the Florida Highway Patrol said Gaston Santos Vega, 29, of Bradenton, lost control of his 2007 Nissan Armada in a curve on 30th Street W. The SUV struck a tree on the west side of the road, overturned and slid into the parking... The pedestrians were part of a large group gathered at the location to pick up newspapers to distribute, the FHP said. One of the pedestrians, Miya Latresse Farmer, 36, of Bradenton, was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition, troopers said. Two other passengers, Roberto Enrique Villalta, 37, of Bradenton, and Julio De La Torre, 26, of Bradenton, were taken to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries. The second pedestrian, Colbert Lovell Farmer, 39, of Bradenton, suffered minor injuries. Farmer said he and his wife had arrived just before the crash to pick up newspapers to deliver. He said they were standing in the parking lot when the SUV plowed into them. “The truck hit the tree," he said. Neighbors who live along 30th Street W said the narrow road with trees on both sides combined with speeding make the street very dangerous. Source: www.baynews9.com
