Porsche’s 50 mpg claim has as many qualifications as GM’s old 230 mpg claim for the Volt – perhaps something like traveling 22 miles on battery, 30 miles on 1 gallon of gas and call it 50 mpg. Reporting that repeats Porsche’s claims uncritically is a disservice. Source: gas2.org
