Dave Baker's 1972 Chevrolet C10 Stepside is Corvette-equipped - Hot Rod Network

He and his wife Cora live in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and when Cora's father, Earl "Bud" Alexander passed away in 1991, the 1972 Chevrolet C10 pickup that Bud bought back in 1975 became a gift to Dave. There were lots of memories associated with the truck, not the least of which was the fact that Cora was working at the Chevrolet dealership way back when her dad bought it. They have all the original paperwork, including the owner's manual,... In fact, the truck was in storage for 17 years before they realized they had to do something soon or the truck would rust away. Dave could update the powertrain and suspension so that the vintage truck would handle like a modern sports car. Fortunately, Dave has a good friend in the business and Pete Zorge of Zorge Engineering and Design in New Smyrna Beach, Florida was the perfect choice to transform the Stepside into a modern Pro Tourer. In fact, the plan was to equip the truck with a complete Corvette suspension and monster 496ci V-8.
