Daniel Lecompte Jr. , 37, is suspected to have been drinking and texting when his truck traveled off the left side of the road, officials said. Lecompte sustained moderate injuries and was initially treated at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center before being transferred to University Hospital in New Orleans.
