Defense attorney Scott Rosenblum fights to keep his drivers license after DWI ... - STLtoday.com

BRENTWOOD • It’s been 394 days since prominent defense attorney Scott Rosenblum crashed his car in Brentwood and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Rosenblum, 57, of Ladue, has been fighting all this time to keep his drivers license and, so far, has successfully done so. While Rosenblum was put on probation in the criminal case involving the crash, his drivers license fight is handled... The state revoked his license for one year on the day of the crash because he refused to take a breath test or consent to give a blood sample. He crashed head-on into a northbound 2001 Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Ronald Monroe Smith, 27, of Arnold. Police said Rosenblum denied drinking any alcohol but later said he had one drink. In the drivers license matter, the judge is asked to determine whether the officer had probable cause to arrest Rosenblum for driving while intoxicated and if Rosenblum did, indeed, refuse those alcohol tests. Brentwood police Officer Nick Seiverling said in court that his probable cause was Rosenblum’s slurred speech, red watery eyes, unsteady walk and a strong odor of alcohol. He said he didn’t seek a search warrant to have Rosenblum’s blood drawn after Rosenblum refused to give a sample voluntarily. Source: www.stltoday.com
