Four die in weekend wrecks - Longview News-Journal

A single-vehicle wreck Sunday killed Denton resident Montravious Viquon James, 21, when the 2010 Toyota Corolla he was driving strayed off a Camp County highway. A highway patrol report said the southbound car swerved off a curve on U. S. 271 about 3 a. m. Sunday, less than 2 miles south of Pittsburg. According to the highway patrol report, a westbound 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by Matthew Keith Jones, 36, of Tyler swerved and overcorrected before entering the oncoming traffic lane. The Corolla collided there with a 2008 Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Eleisa Phippen, 53, of Gilmer. Both Jones and Phippen were pronounced dead at the scene, a half-mile east of Smith CR 279, as was Kent Jones, 11, of Rusk, who was a passenger in Jones' vehicle. A passenger in Phippen's vehicle, 23-year-old Carly Phippen of Tyler, was taken in stable condition to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, the report said. Source: www.news-journal.com
