Byron's Jones out to build on meteoric rise in NASCAR - Detroit Free Press
Jones lives on his own in the Charlotte area in North Carolina, where he is running in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing and in Camping World Trucks for Cup star Kyle Busch. In 2016, Jones will race full-time in Xfinity for Gibbs and also start in a select number of Cup events for the former Washington Redskins' coach. Jones is the hottest young driver on the NASCAR circuit, having won five times in Camping World and twice in Xfinity. He'll compete Saturday at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the No. 4 Toyota Tundra in the Careers for Veterans 200 trucks race. Jones began racing against much older drivers, some two and three times his age, at 13 in the ASA Late Model Series. He also raced at Dixie Speedway in Birch Run and at Owosso Speedway. In 2012, he became the third driver in the 46-year-history of the prestigious Snowball Derby Super Late Model race at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla. On Tuesday, he visited the University of Michigan C. S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he met children with MIS president Roger Curtis in advance of this weekend's Pure Michigan 400 Cup event and trucks race. "The visit was very, very good," said Jones, who has made. Source: www.freep.com
