After moving more than a dozen times, couple plants roots with new Katy home - Chron.com

Debbie and Jim Pipes moved 10 times during their first 10 years of marriage. But a couple of years ago, the couple started falling back into a traveling pattern. "I was doing the commute for a number of years and got tired of it, so we decided to sell the home," he says. The Pipeses rented a house in The Woodlands for a year, then tried to save money by moving into an RV. After a year in an RV park, they'd had enough. Jim's office relocated and the couple decided they'd make one last move: They wanted to come home to Katy. "we didn't want to wait" to build, Debbie says. When they'd moved into the RV, the couple had given most of their furniture to their two grown children, so they found themselves with a four-bedroom, 3,200-square-foot home and not much to fill it. Their realtor recommended designer Veronica... "When Veronica walked in, the only thing here was the couch, two chairs and a bed," says Debbie, standing in their new home. The couple had some antique furniture in storage, and Debbie wanted to decorate with family photos. "Basically, they wanted a cozy home," Solomon says. Source: www.chron.com
