The smiling automotive face that you see in the gallery above is the new Toyota Sienta minivan . However, before you even think about buying one, know that this van is for the Japanese market. In addition to the charming design that somewhat evokes the refreshed Prius V , the Sienta is also available as a hybrid. Toyota is trying to market this minivan as a sporty entry in the segment, but this vehicle's sedate powertrains definitely aren't capable of any Momkhana-esque slides. The designers took inspiration from an outdoor shoe when creating the Sienta, according to Toyota, and the exterior's curving, roly-poly lines make the whole van look very friendly. Depending on trim, most models fit six or seven people, and the three rows of seats are arranged stadium style with the rears slightly higher than the front. Base models start at the current equivalent of about $13,700, after Japan's consumption tax, and the price for the highest trim, seven-passenger hybrid is around $19,000.
