Tesla opens up gallery and service center in Houston this weekend - Chron.com
This weekend Tesla Motors will hold a grand opening for its newest Houston service center and gallery. Current Tesla car owners can use the location for servicing. There is already a Tesla gallery location in the Galleria area off West Alabama and a service center in the Westchase area. So far lawmakers in Austin have yet to allow Elon Musk’s Tesla Motors to operate dealerships in Texas, so you can look and touch at this new location but you cannot drive one off the lot. Tesla would love to open at least six dealerships and six service centers in Texas if allowed. If Tesla can do this in Texas, it opens the door to other dealerships doing the same in the Lone Star State, which the Texas Automobile Dealers Association has lobbied against.
