Toyota has released new data which shows that U. S. sales of the Tacoma pickup increased nearly 29 percent in July and just under 20 percent over the first seven months of 2015 compared to similar periods a year ago. The spike in sales is a continued payoff for Alamo City officials, who several years ago convinced Toyota to shift production of the Tacoma from California to a South San Antonio assembly plant initially constructed to facilitate manufacturing of... But the real game changer for San Antonio’s manufacturing sector was the decision by Toyota in 2009 to move U. S. Tacoma production to its TMMTX plant. Toyota sold 105,834 Tacoma trucks in the U.
