In an effort to continually improve the quality of its vehicles, making them “Ever Better” Toyota engineers have set off on an adventure to test their vehicles in what they’re calling the “Ever-Better Expedition,” a “real-world global driving... The nine-vehicle caravan stopped for a few hours July 28 in Buffalo, giving Toyota team members at the massive Putnam County facility an opportunity to see the result of their toil in action. The engineers came from Toyota facilities in Japan and the United States. Five of the nine vehicles in the expedition have engines and/or transmissions built by team members in West Virginia, according to Millie Marshall, president of TMMWV. A total of nine of the 12 Toyota vehicles manufactured in North America have transmission and/or engines built in Buffalo. The UUV — Ultimate Utility Vehicle — is a Toyota Sienna van shell sitting on a Toyota Tacoma truck chassis, making for a vehicle that is built for rugged terrain, Marshall said.
