Elderly Screven County Man Reported Missing Found Dead - WJBF-TV

***UPDATED at 6:59 P. M. on Wednesday, August 5th***. Screven County, GA – The man we reported earlier who was reported missing in Screven County has died in a South Carolina hospital. A Screven County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson has confirmed to WJBF News Channel 6 that 85-year-old Steve Volf is dead. Sergeant Brett Dickerson, of the Screven County Sheriff’s Office, tells us a passing motorist on I-95 noticed Volf in distress and called 911 for help. ***POSTED at 11:32 P. M. on Tuesday, August 4th***. Sylvania, GA – The Screven County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help from WJBF News Channel 6 viewers to find a missing Sylvania man who suffers from dementia. Steve Volf, 85, was last seen Tuesday morning leaving his home on Effingham Highway, near Halcyondale Road. Investigators say he was driving a gray 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with Georgia license plate number PD6DKC.
