Michelle Lynn Fletcher, the driver in a fatal crash last summer that killed a Warrenton man and injured two others, pleaded not guilty last week in Clatsop County Circuit Court. , was indicted in July on charges of first-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while license is suspended. Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fletcher on a fugitive warrant two weeks after being indicted. She appeared in court last week via video link from the jail to plead not guilty to the charges. Fletcher, driving a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup, was traveling westbound when she crossed the double solid centerline and sideswiped an eastbound 1993 Ford pickup, according to the Oregon State Police. He was riding in the back seat and was not using safety restraints, according to state police. Fletcher was seriously injured and extricated by firefighters. Both were using safety restraints and the pickup’s airbags deployed, state police said. The driver had non-life threatening injuries and a passenger was not injured.
