I may not be up to tackling that question, but the 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk we were wringing out had no problem shrugging off the steep drop, thanks to the foot-off-the-brake mettle of its hill-descent control. The Renegade is a new small SUV set to go on sale in late March. While the Renegade was designed in the United States, it's already blazing trails as the first Jeep to be made overseas. To be eventually sold in more than 100 countries, the Renegade is assembled in the southern Italian town of Melfi and shares the same platform as Fiat's 500X. Its 4x4 system gets a low 20:1 crawl ratio and a five-mode Selec–Terrain system that adds "rock" to the regular 4x4s' four-mode system.
