2016 Toyota Innova to have a price hike of INR 1-1.5 lakhs - Indian Autos Blog (blog)

Will arrive in India in 2016. Toyota is all set to replace the aging Innova MPV with a next generation model that will make its global premiere later this year. Way ahead of its Indian debut, Team BHP member “mroptimist” has shared some information on the Toyota Innova, giving us a clearer image of what to expect. According to the member, production of the current Toyota Innova will end in three months time for the next gen Innova to take over. When launched in India, the Toyota Innova will, reportedly, be priced INR 1-1. 5 lakhs more than the current model, and sales will be restricted to personal buyers for a year. For commercial buyers, however, Toyota will continue producing the current Innova in the popular GX variant for a year. The only technical detail shared is that the Innova will offer either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, which will transmit power from Toyota’s new GD range of diesel engines that include a 2. 4-liter and a 2. 8-liter. The new Innova will be based on an all-new ladder-frame platform that also underpins the latest Hilux Revo and the upcoming Fortuner. For top variants, Toyota may also increase the safety equipment with features such as 7-airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, at least on the international variant. Source: indianautosblog.com
