Texas trucker killed in crash on I-81 in Cumberland County - FOX43.com
, Cumberland County, Pa. –A truck driver was killed in a crash on I-81 Northbound in Cumberland County this morning. It happened around 7:40am near mile marker 45. State Police say Ismael Medina, 54, of Laredo, Texas, was traveling north and did not respond to traffic stopped ahead of his 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer. His truck hit the car in front of him, a 2016 black Mazda 6 operated by Sean Kane of Carlisle. Medina continued north and hit the rear of another car 2006 gray Mazda 3 driven by Kyle Chiaverini. Medina continued to plow ahead, hitting a 2004 Nissan 350Z driven by Justin Horst, of Shippensburg. After hitting Horst’s car, Medina’s truck veered into the median and rolled over onto its right side. Horst’s car was pushed into the rear of a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Michaelann Moser, which was in turn pushed into the rear of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by James Leid. State Police were assisted at the scene by Carlisle Fire Department, Carlisle EMS, John’s Mobile Repair Service, Carlisle Fire Department Fire Police, Penn DOT.
