SPY PICS: Toyota HiLux leaked again - Motoring
A Spanish-speaking Facebook user going by the alias 'Terranismo' has posted images of next year's all-new Toyota HiLux, without any camouflage cladding at all. And one of the photos is the first glimpse we've seen of the new HiLux's dashboard and centre fascia. As had been revealed previously, the HiLux will introduce two smaller displacement diesel engines in lieu of the current 3. 0-litre unit , and most transmission options – whether manual or auto – will be six-speeders. A five-speed manual transmission will be available as a low-cost alternative for the 2. 4-litre (2GD-FTV VN) turbo-diesel and the carry-over 2. 7-litre petrol engine. With the five-speed box the 2. 4-litre diesel is limited to 150hp (112kW) and 343Nm, but with the six-speed automatic option it's rated at 167hp (125kW) and 400Nm. A 2. 8-litre diesel (1GD-FTV) is also available with manual and automatic... Peak power is the same for either transmission option, 177hp (132kW), but the torque is either 420Nm with the manual box or 450Nm with the auto. In addition, the 2. 7-litre petrol four (2TR) is also available with a six-speed manual option as well as the six-speed auto and default five-speed manual. Peak power has been bumped up from the current figure of 116kW to 166hp (124kW), but the Thai spec list doesn't make any mention of torque. Source: www.motoring.com.au
