Crash between 18-wheeler and pickup truck kills Little River man - WPDE

A 39-year-old Little River man was killed early Tuesday morning during a two-vehicle crash on S. C. 90, according to Deputy Horry County Coroner Tony Hendrick. Rene Gustavo Villanueva Rodriguez died from blunt force trauma that he suffered in the crash that happened near the intersection of S. C. 90 and Chelsey Lake Drive at around 5 a. m. on August 4, Hendrick said. The crash happened after a 2007 Freightliner Truck was traveling east on S. C. 90 and a 2001 Toyota pickup was traveling west on the same road. The driver of the Toyota, Rodriguez, lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and was struck by the freightliner truck, according to Cpl. Collins said Rodriguez was not wearing a seatbelt.
