Calgary Auto Show: New Nissan Titan steals the show - Driving
Perhaps more than any other pickup on the market, the Nissan Titan is due for a change. The 2016 Titan — being seen for the first time in Calgary at the Auto Show — is a completely new design, plus the heavy-duty Titan XD packs some serious diesel power. For 2016, the Titan comes in two levels of capability, the Titan and Titan XD. The Titan is a half-ton truck available with V6 or V8 gasoline engines and three bed lengths and three cab configurations will be offered. The Titan XD uses the same body as the Titan but features a completely different frame and chassis underneath that body. The other big news for the Titan XD is available Cummins diesel power. The Titan XD’s diesel V8 is exclusive to Nissan and was originally designed for an industrial application but was optimized for the Titan XD. Fuel economy hasn’t been announced yet but it will be interesting to see how it compares to Dodge’s 3. 0L... That’s impressive towing capacity and it’s higher than almost any ½ ton truck can boast but it’s still not as much as some ¾ ton trucks, which can tow nearly 18,000 pounds. Source: driving.ca
