Predators forward Mike Ribeiro has settled a civil lawsuit out of court with a former nanny who alleged that he sexually assaulted her in 2012. “This civil matter has been amicably resolved without incurring further time-consuming and potentially... “Mike looks forward to continuing to play hockey at a high level and looks forward to aggressively pursuing a Stanley Cup alongside his teammates. On July 1, Nashville re-signed Ribeiro to a two-year, $7 million contract after he was the team’s second-leading scorer with 62 points last season. Explicit allegations surfaced last month as the Predators negotiated with the veteran center, turning public opinion against the organization for its interest in retaining him. “The organization understands Mike Ribeiro has resolved his civil case,” the Predators said in a statement. The Predators were resolute in their support of Ribeiro throughout the process and were made aware of the potential of the civil lawsuit before signing him to a one-year, $1. 05 million contract last July. “I think the most important thing is that you’ve got (an) organization that believes in you and wants the best for you and your family,” Ribeiro said earlier this month.
