Nashville crews help with overturned tanker in Dickson - The Tennessean

At about 5 p. m. , crews with the Nashville Fire Department arrived on the scene of the overturned fuel tanker truck in Dickson, including a hazmat unit. The Nashville crew also brought more fire retardant foam after the Dickson Fire Department exhausted its supply trying to clean up the spill. East Walnut Street from Bryan Ave to Cowan Road is currently shut down as well as E. Railroad Street and Wade Ave. An overturned fuel truck just off East Walnut Street in Dickson led to the evacuation of people living and working within about 1,000 feet of the vehicle. The tractor-trailer overturned at the corner of E. Railroad Street and Wade Ave. Those nearby businesses as well as residents at the Walnut Street Apartments and homes in the area have been evacuated to Walnut Street Church of Christ. At about 1 p. m. Tuesday, the truck driver was either leaving or headed to Huck's gas station in Dickson, located at the corner of Highway 46 and College Street, when was hung up and the vehicle overturned, said Dickson County Emergency Management... "It could be going in the wet weather stream, it could be going in the storm water system or it could be in the culvert system under the drive way," Fisher said.
