Unlike last year's event, when the Vols flew under the radar, they're now one of the SEC's most discussed teams. And SEC communications director Chuck Dunlap tweeted that there were more Tennessee fans in attendance than "in years. The conference's media here is likely to predict Tennessee to finish in the top two — and certainly no lower than third — of the SEC East in the annual preseason poll. The Vols are coming off their first bowl victory since 2008, a 45-28 dispatching of Iowa in the TaxSlayer Bowl. Tennessee coach Butch Jones was asked whether he could sense a change in the way fans are perceiving him, given the anticipation for this season, which begins Sept. 5 at Nissan Stadium against Bowling Green.
