Roush & GAS Combine To Give This 2013 Ford Raptor 590 HP - Four Wheeler Network

Give the customers what they want has been a selling tool since, well … the inception of selling things, we suppose. GAS stands for Galpin Auto Sports, and it’s an offshoot of the many Galpin dealerships. The GAS crew has done muscle cars, imports and everything in between. That’s just what this ’13 Ford F-150 Super Cab Raptor got. There have been some famous names historically associated with Ford Performance, but Jack Roush is as big as they come. Roush engines are known for power and reliability, so it comes as no surprise that GAS has a long-standing relationship with Roush and chose to use Roush components in this 6. 2L 2V SOHC V-8 engine-equipped Raptor build. Raptors are no slouches stock, but with the inclusion of a Roush supercharger and cold air intake/air filter, as well as a Roush Performance cat-back exhaust, the horsepower numbers rose appreciably. Superchargers compress air/fuel into the compression chambers, which is good, but any pre-detonation is not. That’s why a Snow Performance Water/Methanol Kit is used. The system gives a shot of water/methanol when the system feels that heat could be a problem. But as much as GAS wanted this Raptor to fly, they also wanted it to have an off-road suspension that was worthy of the rest of the truck. Source: www.fourwheeler.com
