According to the arrest affidavit, a Crockett Police corporal met with the woman who is in charge of bookkeeping for Willie Josey’s Quality Paint & Body Shop, which is located at 1053 East Loop 304 on May 29. The woman told him that Bowman had... Bowman picked up his truck a few weeks later, and he paid a $500 deductible on the truck and told them that his insurance would pay the remainder of the $2,009. 55 bill, the affidavit stated. The woman told the CPD officer that the business did not know that Bowman had requested his insurance company to send the check directly to him. When the woman called the insurance company, its representative told her that the check had been mailed to Bowman at his request, the affidavit stated. The woman asked about the insurance check, and Bowman said he had never gotten a check from the insurance company, the affidavit stated. The bookkeeper and Bowman both called the insurance company, and they learned that the check had been cashed on that same day.
