Nissan Xterra Axed for 2016, Ending 15-Year Run - Motor Trend

The more practical and fuel-efficient Rogue is currently Nissan’s best-selling crossover, outselling the Xterra by around 25 to 1 units. The 2016 Nissan Rogue receives a few updates, including the addition of Forward Emergency Braking to the Rogue SL Premium Package. The Rogue SL now gets NissanConnect Services, while the Siri Eyes Free system is added to the Rogue SV Premium Package and Rogue SL. Finally, the Blind Spot Warning feature has been upgraded from a camera-based to a radar-based system. The Versa sedan now gets standard color-matched power side-view mirrors, while the Versa S receives standard rear speakers. Meanwhile, the Versa Note SV gets more standard items like Nissan Connect with Mobile Apps, Bluetooth connectivity, and a RearView Monitor. I knew this would be the last year for the Xterra, so I bought a blue '15 Pro-4X last October. The 2nd gen Xterra (especially in Off Road or Pro-4X versions) is a really great off-roader that is still quite good at in-town use. It has better interior cargo room vs. the FJ and Wrangler and rear passengers get a real door (although fairly narrow) rather than the half-door thing FJs have. I get around 19-20mpg highway and around 16-17mpg overall. Source: wot.motortrend.com
