Grand Jury Indictments, Aug. 18 - Cape May County Herald (press release)

The grand jury indicted Joseph Moncrief, 27, of Villas on first degree attempted murder, second degree aggravated assault, endangering an injured victim, a third degree crime, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree. Moncrief allegedly attempted to kill another individual using a rock as a weapon May 27. He then fled the scene leaving the injured victim who was unable to help himself. Steven Long, 28, of Ocean View was indicted for burglary, third degree, and theft, third degree. The indictment alleges that Long unlawfully entered a 2010 Nissan Frontier and took moveable property valued in excess of $500. The incident occurred March 3 in Upper Township. He was indicted for endangering a victim, a third degree crime, and aggravated assault in the fourth degree. He has been indicted for escape, second degree, resisting arrests, third degree and aggravated assault, fourth degree. Makowski, 26, of Villas was indicted for burglary, third degree, and theft, third degree. Makowski allegedly entered a home on Locust Road June 14 and stole property valued in excess of $500.
