Annual Incredible Corn Dinner To Set A Table This Month - Greeneville Sun
The public is invited to Rural Resources' sixth annual Incredible Corn Dinner on July 25. The 7 p. m. dinner will be at Still Hollow Farm, at 3005 West Allens Bridge Road in Greeneville, a Greene County century farm. Tickets are $50. Reservations need to be made by July 20. The Incredible Corn Dinner is the major annual fundraising event for Rural Resources, a non-profit organization based in Greeneville that has worked for 23 years to connect farms, food and... Heirloom "Incredible Corn," grown at Still Hollow Farm, will be the star of the meal. Proceeds from the event will go towards Rural Resources' Farm & Food Teen Training Program, which teaches at-risk teens how to grow, cook and market their own food. Proceeds will also benefit Farm Day Camp, which brings children from preschool through elementary school to a real, working farm to see where food comes from. Tickets to last year's dinner sold out well before the event, to the elation of Rural Resources' staff, board and program participants. "We were thrilled with last year's full-to-the-brim turnout," said Joyce Doughty, chairwoman of Rural Resources' board of directors. Source: www.greenevillesun.com
