Ferdinand — A traffic stop for a seat belt violation in Ferdinand landed a Grandview man in jail for driving with a suspended license on Tuesday. A Ferdinand officer was on routine patrol on Industrial Road near West Third Street at about 2:50 p. m. when he noticed the driver of a Mazda B4000 pickup not wearing his seat belt. The officer stopped the truck and while checking the driver’s license determined Meyer Distributing employee arrested for theft of company credit card. Jasper — Jasper police arrested 23-year-old Devonte J. Chatman, of 1328 Main Street, Jasper, for using a company credit card to make personal purchases. Police determined Chatman had used it to make purchases at Hibbett Sporting Goods and the Northside Citgo gas station totaling $208. 40. While officers were taking Chatman into custody they found a marijuana pipe on his person. Traffic Accident Jasper — Jasper police responded to a traffic accident Monday morning when a driver blacked out and ran off the road striking a city-owned utility pole. Steven Milligan, 58, of Pinehurst Drive, Jasper, told officers he was northbound on Manor Drive just south of 41st Street in a 2012 Jeep Liberty at about 11:34 a. m. when he blacked out.
