Sunday, Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Louisiana Highway 385 south of Lake Charles in Calcasieu Parish. The preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Mazda pickup driven by 37-year-old Marcus Devin Pettifield of Lake Arthur was traveling south on LA 385 when a pedestrian attempted to cross the highway in front of him. The pedestrian, 22-year-old Devin Lee Olmos of San Antonio, Texas, was struck by the pickup truck and was transported to a Lake Charles hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
