9-11 to promote Nebraska beef and pork. The governor said in a press release that Japan is one of Nebraska’s top export customers and business investors. The conference will provide state officials and Nebraska business leaders access to high-level executives from 300 companies and corporations. In 2014, Nebraska exported $276 million in beef and $235 million in pork to Japan. The country accounts for one-fifth of the state’s beef exports and one-half of the pork exports. Overall, Nebraska exported $735 million in merchandise to Japan in 2014. The country ranks as the largest direct foreign investor in Nebraska, having invested more than $4. 4 billion since 2010.
