The 76-Day (Pink?) Truck: Vyper In, Lockheed Out Of Army's ULCV Race - Breaking Defense

Looks like their gear is kept under their feet. I’m definitely less impressed by this design than by the Polaris design. Even though I’m biased towards Polaris, I’m very curious about why the DAGOR is more interesting than the GD FLyer which comes in V-22 capable variant, which makes it compatible with AFSOC CV-22, and can up-armor to look like an armored HMMWV. Either way, they have some interesting vehicles, but I’m not sure this squad carrier is as well thought out as other offerings. The video I watched was fast and I thought they had some window covers made of canvas hanging on the doors, but on closer look it might be some kind of equipment storage, or just added protection. They do not look safe with all the open windows. In the video they show one without the half doors installed, which I do not think that is good force protection. They should show the vehicles in full up combat dress, with better info. I would not ride into combat in one of these. The HUMMV was meant to be a JEEP replacement. After that there was no looking back. They had to make the unit into something no one ever envisioned. 9 guys in an unarmored truck are definitely more vulnerable than 9 guys in an armored vehicle — or 9 guys on foot able to spread out and take cover, for that matter.
