Report: Development of Next-Gen Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon Underway - MotorTrend Magazine
Not long ago, GM decided that production on the midsize truck would end with the current generation in mid-2012. But recent reports suggest that the company has decided to leverage its new small truck platform being built in Thailand later this year, resulting in a new Colorado and Canyon -- if the trucks keep those names -- in the 2014 model year. The midsize truck segment in the U. S. has gone stale, with GM and Ford entries undergoing few changes over the last five years. For 2010, the Chevrolet Colorado sold 24,642 units, down from 32,413 units in 2009. Combining Colorado and Canyon numbers for 2010 still would not surpass sales of the Silverado for December alone. I would like an off road model like the old ZR2 was. Especially with the regular cab ZR2 model. I would like functional and practicality, something along the lines of styling in the sense of chrome with the current malibu would be just right. Instruments to be touch screen, speedo and fuel to also be led/lcd tft start/stopfunction, colored bedliners, pop out rear window/roll down rear window, caddy style interior on top of the line model. folding mirrors, colored foglights hood scoop on ss model, foldable rear bench. Ugh GMs small trucks are the worst kind of trucks ever made. Now if I had to do it over again I would have never gotten a truck with anything less then a 8foot bed its just useless in anything smaller. Source: wot.motortrend.com
