Newman police reported two stolen vehicles this past week. On Thursday, June 18, a 2001 dark blue GMC Sonoma was taken from the driveway of Walshford Court home. Police reported two burglaries this week. A laptop and digital camera valued at $700 were reported stolen Wednesday, June 17 from a truck on Labrador Court. On Thursday, June 18, a car stereo amplifier, a life jacket and an old California driver’s license were reported stolen from a a truck in the Brant Court area. A Justin Bieber bag containing a college application, white earbud headphones, and a pink stethoscope were reported stolen Thursday, June 18 from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Rosetta Drive home. Newman police reported a hit and run traffic accident at Yolo Middle School the evening of Thursday, June 18. An unidentified driver was reportedly doing “donuts” in the parking lot and hit a cyclone fence. Newman police received 80 calls for service, reported 88 officer-initiated incidents, handled 27 cases, made 10 arrests and issued 25 traffic citations from June 15-21, according to the department’s weekly activity report. Gustine police received 93 calls for service, reported 221 officer-initiated incidents (including 32 traffic stops), took 31 reports, made five arrests and issued 12 traffic citations from June 15-21, according to the department’s activity.
