Martinez, 10-3 with a 2. 52 earned run average, won out in an internet vote over four other players for the 34th and final spot on the National League team. As the final day featured Twitter voting, Martinez beat out Cincinnati righthander Johnny Cueto and Los Angeles Dodgers lefthander Clayton Kershaw, the reigning Cy Young Award winner, among others.
