Kozma keys win for Cards, Lynn - STLtoday.com
Kozma had three hits and reached base four times in the Cardinals' 5-1 victory against the Marlins to complete the sweep at Marlins Park. Kozma scored two of the runs and, in the eighth inning, flipped an RBI single to center to complete his evening. He had one slick play in the field to back Lance Lynn, who in his return from the disabled list pitched six scoreless innings. The Cardinals opted to go with a pinch-hitter for Lance Lynn in the top of the seventh inning to try and capitalize on a scoring chance against the Marlins and widen the lead for the righthander. Pete Kozma and Greg Garcia dropped a couple bunts that, when mishandled by the meandering Marlins, keyed a three-run inning and opened a 4-0 lead for the Cardinals. Kozma has been on base all three times he has come to the plate Thursday. He has scored two of the Cardinals' four runs, and he's reached at least third base three times. The Cardinals got four consecutive singles and a bases-loaded walk to open the seventh inning. Kozma scored in the inning on Mark Reynolds' sacrifice fly to shallow right field. Kozma had the time to score because it was second baseman Dee Gordon and not. Source: www.stltoday.com
