Lefthander Chris Sale will make his first start against the Cardinals on Tuesday. It will be the 100th start of his career, and Sale will try to join new Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez as the only pitchers to strike out 10 or more batters in eight straight games. Sale, however, has won just three of his last seven games. The lefthander has fanned 10 or more in 26 of his first 99 starts. They are 14-22 in the first 36 games of that stretch.
