City Police Investigating Vehicle Theft, Crash w/Injuries - Effingham's News Leader
Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle owned by a Dieterich man. Effingham city police say the vehicle, a 1998 white GMC Sierra, is owned by Brett Walker of Dieterich. The vehicle is valued at $2,700. --. A Teutopolis woman was injured in a crash at Fayette and 3rd in Effingham Monday afternoon. Police say the crash occurred at 1:36pm when a vehicle driven by 90-year-old Mary Hoelscher of Teutopolis turned in front of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Kevin Brooks of Altamont.
