DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a 2014 Ford F-250 was traveling northbound on Highway 285 and a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 was traveling southbound on Highway 285. According to the report, the Ford F-250 drove into the southbound lane of traffic behind... As the other vehicle drove back into the northbound lane, both the Ford F-250 and GMC Sierra took evasive action off the roadway into a ditch. Both vehicles met in the ditch and the F-250 hit the GMC Sierra. The driver of the GMC Sierra, Javier Mayagoitia, 24, of El Paso, Texas, and a passenger in the vehicle, Javier Garcia, 24, of El Paso, were killed in the accident. Two other people in the Sierra, Osman Martinez, 18, of El Paso and Hugo Martinez, 23, of El Paso were injured in the accident and taken to area hospitals. At last check, Osman Martinez was listed in serious condition at University Medical Hospital in El Paso and Hugo Martinez was listed in stable condition at Reeves Medical Hospital.
